Gorman-Rupp’s S-Line is a range of diesel driven pump sets specially built for applications where quiet operation, high reliability and strong performance are key. These pump sets are suitable for both urban and remote areas and combine advanced self-priming or dry self-priming technology with powerful Stage V diesel engines – without requiring AdBlue.

Wet self-priming pumps require the pump casing to be initially filled with liquid before starting. These pumps have two chambers: a vacuum chamber and a pressure chamber, connected by a recirculation port. Once running, the pump uses circulating water in the chamber to evacuate air from the suction line. Heavier water is recirculated back through the recirculation port, while lighter air escapes through the discharge. This method ensures efficient operation and reliable performance in various pumping applications.
Dry self-priming pumps (also called prime-assisted pumps) don’t require pre-filling. They can start even when the system, including the pump casing, is empty. These centrifugal pumps feature an additional priming assist device, typically an air vacuum diaphragm pump or a compressor/venturi system. When the pump starts, the vacuum pump creates a vacuum in the suction line. Then, atmospheric pressure pushes the liquid into the suction line and starts priming the pump. This technology ensures reliable performance and ease of use, making it ideal for various industrial applications.
