Hi, my name is Wilco van de Giessen, and I started at Gorman-Rupp on November 1, 2018, as a Sales Engineer. At the time, I was succeeding a colleague who was promoted within our organization.

For the past 5+ years, I’ve been responsible for commercial activities in the western part of the Netherlands. A very dynamic, diverse, and responsible job that I could only do successfully with the fantastic support of my colleagues.

There’s a very familiar atmosphere at Gorman-Rupp, both in the Netherlands and at headquarters in the USA. In Waardenburg, we are a great group of about 30 colleagues who are always ready to help and contribute to creating happy and satisfied customers. No day is ever the same. We are currently looking for several new colleagues. I’m especially looking forward to someone to succeed me, as I’m the one now being given the chance to grow further within the organization.

Arnoud, Technical Specialist

“A fun job because you meet a lot of different companies and people.”

Hi, I’m Arnoud. I started working at Gorman-Rupp in 2018 as a field service technician. A fun job because you meet a lot of different companies and people.

In 2020, our Workshop Manager retired, and I got the opportunity to take over his responsibilities. Since 2023, I’ve been working as a Technical Specialist. I support our technicians, collaborate a lot with our engineering team, and enjoy working hands-on myself. This role suits me very well, and it allows us to keep making Gorman-Rupp products even better and more impressive.

That’s what I love most about working at Gorman-Rupp.

Since I started, the company has grown tremendously, and I’ve grown along with it. I believe we’re far from finished growing. Would you like to help us? Then I hope we can welcome you soon as our new Gorman-Rupper!

Mattia, Business Development Manager

“I am proud to work for a company that strives to reduce its carbon footprint today.”

I am Mattia Calvanese. I live in Italy and have been working for Gorman-Rupp Europe since 2021.

I work from home and travel within my region to support our distributors. During the year, I regularly visit our headquarters in Waardenburg for meetings, customer visits, and training. I’m also in daily contact with my colleagues via Teams and phone.

Gorman-Rupp is a global company with branches worldwide, but it is still family-owned—and you feel that from the beginning. The environment is very friendly. During my trip to the main plant in the USA, I also met my colleagues overseas. The open atmosphere made me feel comfortable and valued by the organization from day one. Growth opportunities are there, and I always feel heard when sharing my ambitions and ideas.

An important element is our “Where Blue Meets Green” program, which promotes sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. I am proud to work for a company that strives to reduce its carbon footprint.

It’s my first real working experience with a foreign company, and I must say—it was an excellent choice. My colleagues did everything they could to make me feel part of the family.

Do you also want to be a Gorman-Rupper? Come and join us—you won’t regret it!

Niels, Work Planner

“Plenty of opportunities to grow yourself and the company.”

I’m Niels, and I’ve been working at Gorman-Rupp since April 2021. I landed this position after my HBO graduation internship in mechanical engineering.

I stayed at Gorman-Rupp because during my internship, I already noticed that this is a company with a fun and friendly atmosphere where everyone helps each other. Since Gorman-Rupp is not too large, communication is easy, and the lines are short.

What I also love about Gorman-Rupp is that you see the company getting a little better every day and growing in the market. As a result, there are plenty of opportunities to grow yourself and the company.

I would definitely recommend Gorman-Rupp as your next employer, and I hope we’ll meet soon!
